The Junior Firefighter program is open to any resident of the Bradley Beach Fire Department membership area (all of Bradley Beach, Avon, Neptune City and Neptune Township aged 16-18.
The goal of the program is to "provide opportunity for and develop young people who are interested in learning the fields of fire prevention, fire fighting and emergency first aid work".
This program is sanctioned as a Junior Firemen's Auxiliary
under the laws of the State of New Jersey Chapter 1971 Article 1 (NJSA40AP: 14-95).
Participants aged 16-17 must have written parental approval and will be restricted from certain hazardous duties according to New Jersey Child Labor Laws.
